Our continual assessment of the latest advances in the IT industry enables us to
select the best technologies to use for any given problem. We will select the right
tool for the job depending on the requirements of each client and their project.
Here are some of the main technologies we currently use:
ASP.Net
This technology from Microsoft enables us to develop scalable, web-based applications
and data-driven web sites. ASP.Net was a great step forward from the original ASP
in terms of performance, scalability and maintainability.
ASP.Net MVC
The ASP.NET MVC Framework is the latest web application framework from Microsoft;
it allows us to build web applications as a composition of three roles: Model, View
and Controller. The ASP.NET MVC Framework couples the models, views, and controllers
using interface-based contracts, thereby allowing each component to be easily tested
independently.
Flash
Adobe Flash is a multimedia platform used to add animation, video, and interactivity
to Web pages. Often used for advertisements and games, more recently it has been
positioned as a tool for "Rich Internet Applications" ("RIAs").
LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL & PHP) stack
LAMP is an open source Web development platform that uses Linux as the operating
system, Apache as the Web server, MySQL as the relational database management system
and PHP as the object-oriented scripting language. Because the platform has four
layers, LAMP is sometimes referred to as a LAMP stack. Stacks can be built on different
operating systems.
Windows-Forms.Net
Windows-Forms.Net is the most recent development platform for creating desktop
applications that are native to windows. This technology supersedes Visual Basic
6 and MFC and enables enterprise-scale applications to be developed in a well-structured
manner.
MS SQL Server
This is Microsoft's flagship database engine. It is a fast, efficient and scalable
database system capable of storing and retrieving millions of records. FelineSoft
has been developing applications using SQL Server since the release of version 6.5
in 1996.
MS Access
Microsoft Access is a database management system that enables the rapid development
of small applications. It can also be used to provide flexible reporting facilities
for larger database systems such as SQL Server.
MS Dynamics CRM
Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a multi-lingual Customer Relationship Management software
package developed by Microsoft. Out of the box, the product focuses mainly on Sales,
Marketing, and Service (help desk) sectors, but its .NET based framework allows
us to customize it to meet many different business demands.
MS Office SharePoint
Microsoft SharePoint is a software platform and a family of software products developed
by Microsoft for collaboration, file sharing and web publishing. FelineSoft specialise
in developing web sites, portals, intranets, content management systems and other
tools using Microsoft SharePoint.
Sage Data Objects
FelineSoft is a registered Sage Developer, using the ‘Sage Data Objects’ and software
development kit provided by Sage. These enable us to integrate our products with
the ever-popular Sage accounts software.
Silverlight
Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering media and
rich interactive applications for the Web. Silverlight is based on the Microsoft
.NET Framework and can be integrated with existing Web infrastructure and applications,
including Apache and PHP, JavaScript and XHTML on the client. Using Silverlight,
designers are able to prepare media for encoding and distribution, and create W3C
standards-compliant sites.
