Case Study: Content Management System

The problem

Adelphi Capital had a website which private members could access for getting information on the hedge funds they had invested in, but with no easy way of keeping the site content up-to-date the site was frequently out-of-date. Furthermore, the branding of this site was inconsistent with its other products and sites and as such was not helping to strengthen their corporate image or reputation. On top of this, Adelphi Capital wished to enhance their intranet site with the goal of reducing update times and providing quick and easy access to the information Adelphi staff require on a daily basis.

The goals

Adelphi Capital was looking to consolidate their online branding and gain control of their online content. While partnering with a design agency who would deliver a complete overhaul of their branding, FelineSoft’s role was to provide a complete content management and news delivery system. On top of this, Adelphi wanted their website content management system’s document management facility integrated with their database. Further to these requirements, Adelphi also wanted some additional features which would help them analyse their hedge funds’ performance and enable their clients to view up-to-date analysis on their investments online; therefore integration with external data feeds to up-to-date information on fund performance was required.

The Delivery

Integrating the FelineSoft CMS into the Adelphi site was the first step in giving Adelphi complete control over their site content. Up-to-date fund-tracking was also provided by integrating Adelphi’s site with the live feed on stocks and shares performance around the world supplied by Bloomberg. This was done via a mini module within the CMS system, and an additional management page was added to allow the investments funds to be kept up-to-date. The document management facility within the FelineSoft CMS meant that Adelphi could easily manage their investment risk assessment reports and upload them online for their investors to view. Additional facilities were added to the CMS to enable Adelphi to produce complex graphs to analyse the performance of a particular hedge fund.

Conclusion

The FelineSoft CMS allows Adelphi to adjust their on-line content in an instant whilst ensuring the branding remains consistent throughout the site. The additional features of fund analysis and up-to-date fund performance reports in the CMS enabled Adelphi to provide their clients with a convenient and easy-to-access online fund tracking facilities which greatly enhanced their clients’ experience of their services. Adelphi then went on to be the fastest growing fund of 2005 and cited the work done by FelineSoft and the design company as a highly significant factor in that growth.
